The Ondo State Police Command has ordered the immediate redeployment of the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) in charge of Enu-Owa Division. The directive follows a viral video showing social media influencer Adefolarin Ayomiposi, popularly known as Mandykiss, recording and taking photographs of two female suspects in police custody at Enu-Owa Division.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Mandykiss was not accompanied by any police personnel during the alleged arrest. She was reportedly assisted by her online followers in locating the suspects, who were accused of cyberbullying. After handing them over to the police, the influencer allegedly went on to take pictures and make video recordings within the station premises, posting them on social media.
The Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Lawal, condemned the DPO’s failure to uphold proper supervision and described his conduct as “a lapse in professional judgment.” He stressed that the Command would not tolerate any behavior capable of eroding public confidence in the Nigeria Police Force.
The Commissioner emphasized that recording or photographing suspects in custody is a violation of established procedures and ethical standards. He reiterated his commitment to discipline, accountability, and respect for the rights of all parties in police operations. The redeployment signals the Command’s renewed determination to enforce professionalism and maintain public trust.
