ABUJA, FCT – The Nigeria Police Force has initiated an investigation into a case involving alleged criminal conspiracy and attempted murder, leading to the formal invitation of a resident of Owo, Ondo State, to the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
According to an official letter of invitation issued by the Office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police, IGP Monitoring Unit, the authorities are seeking to interview Mrs. Omowunmi Isaac. The document, dated April 7, 2026, states that the invitation is linked to a report filed with the Inspector General of Police in which the invitee’s name allegedly featured prominently.
The investigation reportedly covers a range of serious claims, including alleged criminal conspiracy, alleged attempted murder, and alleged threat to life. Other allegations mentioned in the police correspondence include alleged assault and the alleged causing of grievous bodily harm.
The police authorities noted that the invitation is in accordance with Section 53 (2)(a) of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act, 2015. This legal provision allows the force to request the presence of individuals to provide information that may assist in ongoing investigations.
Mrs. Isaac is expected to appear at the Louis Edet House, Force Headquarters, on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, to interview the Head of the IGP Monitoring Unit. The police have indicated that her presence is required to shed more light on the allegations as the unit continues its fact-finding mission.
As of the time of this report, the investigation remains active, and the police have requested full cooperation from all parties involved to ensure a thorough process.
