IGBOKODA, NIGERIA — Prince Oluwole Omowole, widely known as Omowell, has officially countered recent reports alleging that the All Progressives Congress in Mahin Ward 1 has zoned the 2027 House of Assembly seat to the Axis B Seaside region. Omowole clarified that no such resolution was reached and that discussions regarding the 2027 legislative seat did not occur during the recent gathering of party leaders.
The clarification follows a meeting held at Zaccros Refreshment Centre in Igbokoda, which Omowole described as a celebratory reception for Hon. Benjamin Obebe following his defection to the APC. He noted that the event was a social gathering intended to welcome new members and was not a formal platform for determining electoral zoning or candidate selection.
Several key party figures were in attendance at the event, including the immediate past Local Government Chairman, Hon. Toyin Ogungbure of Mahin Ward 2, and the Ward Chairman, Ogungbamila Sunday. The gathering also featured Hon. Ofoesuwa Sulphuric, Prince Osipata Oladun, Hon. Groovy, Hon. Festus Ademuwagun, and other prominent leaders from Mahin Ward 1.
Omowole stated that the photograph associated with the zoning rumors was taken during this reception and has been misrepresented. He emphasized that the leadership remains focused on party cohesion and that no deliberations regarding House of Assembly aspirations or zoning mandates have taken place at this stage.
