Abuja, Nigeria – The highly publicized marital crisis involving popular Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Regina Daniels, and her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko (Delta North), has taken a drastic and potentially criminal turn. The actress has publicly alleged that the Senator orchestrated the arrest of her elder brother and sister, claiming the action is part of an attempt to intimidate her into submission.
The explosive accusation was made by Regina Daniels through a series of emotional posts on her social media accounts on Monday, November 3, 2025. The actress stated that she felt like she was “losing her mind” due to the continuous targeting of her family members, who have been supportive of her throughout the marital conflict.
In her posts, Daniels detailed the alleged detentions, writing: “Someone pls help me! I never thought I would do this but my big brother and big sister have been arrested. My baby sister might be arrested soon as well until I return and, according to him, return to rehab.”
The actress directly addressed her estranged husband, demanding he cease the alleged harassment. “Leave my family alone, Ned! And leave me alone too! It is obvious it’s a war! And a big shame that the beautiful but short legacy we built is about to be ridiculed by the whole world,” she wrote. Daniels further alleged that her brother was violently arrested and tortured by police officers as though he were a criminal, emphasizing her willingness to fight back using her own connections and resources.
Confirmation of the arrests came from Regina Daniels’ elder brother, who goes by Sir.Sammywest on Instagram. He posted on his own story, confirming that they were in police custody at the Ogombo police station, stating, “Dem say dem na Ned send dem.”
The current crisis escalated publicly following a viral video released weeks prior where Regina Daniels was seen in distress, claiming she could no longer endure the alleged violence in her marriage. Senator Nwoko had swiftly responded to those initial claims, denying any physical assault and alleging that his wife’s erratic behaviour was instead due to drug and alcohol abuse. The Senator had repeatedly insisted that the condition for their reconciliation was for the actress to submit to a rehabilitation program. He had also previously accused her brother, Sammy West, of being her “main drug supplier.”
This latest development introduces a serious legal and political dimension, raising questions about the alleged misuse of security agencies to settle domestic scores. While Senator Ned Nwoko’s representatives have previously appealed for the matter to be treated as a private family affair that would be resolved internally, he has not yet released an official statement specifically addressing the alleged arrests of Regina Daniels’ siblings.
