The police command has assured residents that Lagos State remains safe and calm. According to the Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, the deployment is aimed at deterring troublemakers and ensuring that no group of individuals disrupts public peace under the guise of protests.
Police personnel have been deployed to flashpoints to prevent unrest and maintain peace. The police command has assured residents that they will respect the constitutional rights to peaceful assembly, but will not tolerate any disruption of public peace. Police formations across Lagos have been directed to send situation reports every 15 minutes to ensure real-time monitoring of events.
