One year ago, the people of our dear State renewed their faith in a vision rooted in progress, inclusion, and sustainable development. In just twelve months, that vision has transformed from promise to performance, now visible, measurable, and impactful across key sectors.
Under the guiding compass of the OUR EASE agenda, the Dr Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa administration has prioritised infrastructure as the backbone of development. Across cities and rural communities, roads have been rehabilitated, reconstructed, and newly commissioned. Infrastructure development in the state aims to reconnect communities, stimulate commerce, and improve access to essential services. These are not merely projects of asphalt and concrete; they are pathways to opportunity and prosperity.
In healthcare, the government has, among other initiatives, facilitated the expansion of the state’s contributory health scheme, completed a pharmaceutical warehouse to ensure medicine availability, renovated and modernised health facilities, and commissioned the 100,000-litre Omi Irorun O’Datiwa Water Supply Project at the Federal University of Technology Akure Teaching Hospital (FUTATH). Over 100 primary healthcare centres are undergoing upgrades to enhance services, particularly maternal and child healthcare. From improved facilities to reliable medical supply systems, lives are being safeguarded and futures secured.
On Education, “the foundation of lasting development,” this sector has also received renewed attention. The recruitment of over 2,000 teachers, payment of examination fees for students, and sustained provision of learning support initiatives demonstrate a clear commitment to nurturing the next generation. By easing the burden on families and strengthening our schools, this administration is investing in the intellectual capital of tomorrow.
Agriculture and rural development have not been overlooked. With strategic land acquisition and a significant budgetary allocation to agricultural expansion, the groundwork has been laid for enhanced food security, job creation, and economic diversification. These steps reflect a forward-looking strategy designed to empower farmers and increase productivity across the state. More importantly, farmers who cultivate cash crops have consistently praised this government for the benefits they have received over the past year.
Security, a fundamental pillar of development, has been reinforced through improved logistics and operational support for all security agencies in the state. By equipping law enforcement with modern tools and mobility, the administration has demonstrated its resolve to safeguard lives, property, and investments. The Amotekun Corps has been transformed into a modern security outfit with enhanced operational capabilities and digital integration. Just yesterday, over 500 Amotekun corps members graduated from their training camps and were integrated into the state security agencies with a mandate to protect lives and property.
These 365 days of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s administration reflect a stability-driven and consultative approach to inter-party relations. By prioritising dialogue, inclusiveness, and institutional engagement, the government has strengthened democratic practices and fostered a conducive political environment for governance and development. Ondo State, under the captaincy of OUR EASE, has experienced relative political calm, with no major incidents of inter-party violence or unrest.
The administration’s focus on dialogue, respect for institutional processes, and proactive conflict management has been vital in maintaining this stability.
Beyond sectoral achievements, what stands out in this first year is a style of governance characterised by calm determination, fiscal prudence, and inclusive engagement. It is leadership that listens, acts, and steadily builds—not for applause, but for lasting impact. It is a government that prioritises the youth of the state by actively involving them in decision-making.
As we mark this one-year milestone of EASE, we recognise that true transformation is a journey, not a destination. However, the foundations laid in this short time inspire confidence that the road ahead is promising. The work continues to deepen reforms, accelerate growth, and ensure every community in Ondo State benefits from democracy’s dividends. We reaffirm our collective commitment to building a stronger, safer, and more prosperous Ondo State under the leadership of Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa.
May the years ahead bring even greater progress for our people and our beloved State.
Signed;
Hon. Fadeshola Ojamomi, Esq
