
The Ondo State Police Command has taken a significant step towards enhancing security in the state. The Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, psc+, mnips, recently held a strategic meeting with critical security stakeholders drawn from Owo and Ose Local Government Areas of the state.
The high-level community engagement, which was part of the proactive policing strategy of the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, was attended by traditional rulers, community leaders, and representatives of various interest groups. These included the Farmers’ Association, Igbira Community, Hausa-Fulani Community, Igbo Community, Scavengers Association, Political Leaders, Vigilante Groups, Agbekoya, Olu-Ode, Nigeria Forest Security Service, and the Owo Security Network.
Also present were representatives of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Bible Society, Muslim Community, and leaders of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) and Okada Riders Association.
During the meeting, CP Lawal appreciated the stakeholders for their continuous support and partnership with the Police in promoting peace and security across the state. He urged them to strengthen this collaboration by promptly reporting any suspicious movement or persons to the nearest security agency.
The Commissioner of Police further reassured participants of the confidentiality of shared intelligence, noting that any information provided directly to him would remain secure and never be leaked to the public.
