The President of the Federation of Ugbo Youths, Hon. Asikomi John Akinmuyiwa, accompanied by his executive team, has concluded a landmark familiarisation visit to youth communities across Ugbo Land — a tour described by community members as historic in the annals of the organisation.
Community chairmen across the various Ugbo communities turned out in their numbers to receive the delegation, underscoring the significance of the visit and the high regard in which the Federation’s leadership is held at the grassroots level.
During the tour, Hon. Akinmuyiwa seized the opportunity to sensitise the youths on the importance of supporting the re-election bid of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging them to align with the Renewed Hope agenda of the Federal Government. He reminded the gathering that President Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated a genuine commitment to the welfare of all Nigerians, including coastal and riverine communities such as those that make up Ugbo Land. The President noted that the Renewed Hope agenda is not merely a political slogan but a living promise — one that continues to manifest in infrastructure investment, youth empowerment, and economic reforms across the nation.
Hon.Asikomi called on the youths to recognise that their future is directly tied to the stability and continuity of the current federal administration, and that returning President Tinubu for a second term is the surest path to consolidating the gains already recorded. He urged every eligible youth in Ugbo Land to obtain their Permanent Voter Card, participate actively in the electoral process, and ensure that their votes speak for development, inclusion, and progress.
He equally highlighted the sterling achievements of the Ondo State Governor, His Excellency Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, and his passion for the development of Ilaje Land, calling on the youths to pledge their support to all candidates of the party in the forthcoming elections.
The youths, in turn, used the occasion to table a number of pressing community needs before the President and his executives. These include:
– Construction of concrete footbridges
– Acute shortage of teachers in community schools
– Youth empowerment programmes
– Sand-filling and embankment works to address sea incursion
– Reclamation of communities being progressively submerged by the sea
Hon.Asikomi Akinmuyiwa assured the youths that their concerns would be formally presented to His Excellency the Governor for urgent attention and intervention.
In their response, the youths of Ugbo Land expressed deep appreciation to the President and his executives, noting that this was the first time in the history of the Federation that a sitting National President had interfaced directly with youth communities at this level. They declared their solidarity with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the Renewed Hope agenda, affirming that Ugbo Land stands firmly behind the administration that is working to build a stronger, more prosperous Nigeria for all. They unanimously pledged their support to the government of the day and vowed to mobilise their peers ahead of the forthcoming elections.
Signed:
Comr. Gbenga Stephen Ayemobuwa
Secretary, Federation of Ugbo Youths
