The palace of the Arujale-Ojima of Okeluse Kingdom in Ondo State has officially cautioned the public against using informal and disrespectful language when referring to their traditional ruler, Oba Oloyede Adekoya Akinghare II. Despite being 22 years old, the monarch has made it clear that his youth does not excuse the disregard for royal protocols and traditional dignity.
Ambassador Prince Adefemi Michael Olorunfemi, the Chief of Staff to the King, released a formal statement on Friday addressing the growing trend of individuals using overly familiar terms for the monarch. The palace noted with concern that some people have been using labels like bro and blood to address the King, a practice they described as a calculated attempt to undermine his authority under the guise of casual friendship.
The statement emphasized that the monarch must be addressed as His Royal Majesty at all times, without exception. Prince Olorunfemi clarified that the palace will no longer tolerate any form of address that deviates from these established royal standards. He stated that the directive is necessary to preserve the sanctity of the throne and ensure that the traditional institution is treated with the reverence it deserves.
The public is therefore advised to take note of this official position, as the kingdom moves to enforce stricter adherence to royal etiquette in all communications involving the Arujale-Ojima of Okeluse.
