A prominent business leader, political scientist, and security expert, Chief Simeon Ebi Bebenimibo, has suggested that the appointment of High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, as Nigeria’s Minister of Defense would effectively end the country’s security challenges.
Speaking in Warri on Saturday, January 17, 2026, Chief Bebenimibo stated that the Federal Government needs a pragmatic and result-oriented approach to national security. He noted that Tompolo has already demonstrated unparalleled capacity through his firm, Tantita Security Services Nigeria Limited (TSSNL), which has successfully safeguarded national oil and gas infrastructure and significantly reduced oil theft in the Niger Delta.
Bebenimibo, who serves as the GMD/CEO of Bibobobra Global Resources Limited and GMD of OML 42 Surveillance Services, emphasized that Tompolo possesses the requisite experience and grassroots intelligence to replicate his success in the oil sector on a national scale. He argued that the issue of insecurity has defied conventional solutions for too long and requires the intervention of a patriot with proven track records.
According to the community leader, Tompolo’s efforts through Tantita have not only boosted national revenue by protecting pipelines but have also provided massive employment opportunities for thousands of youths, steering them away from crime. He maintained that Tompolo’s deep understanding of local terrains and his ability to engage diverse stakeholders make him the ideal candidate to coordinate the nation’s defense architecture.
Chief Bebenimibo further urged the government to prioritize competence over political considerations, asserting that insecurity is a common enemy to all Nigerians. He concluded by hailing Tompolo as a selfless leader who has consistently demonstrated patriotism whenever called upon to serve the interest of the nation.
