Igbokoda, the headquarters of Ilaje Local Government will be brought alive with music,colour, dance and display of cultural heritage by first week of December as the Lebile family marks its maiden day celebration.
A statement made by the organisers revealed a 5-day event lined up with several activities,starting with processing round the town on Wednesday 3rd December.
This will be followed by boat Regatta, football match and Heritage Night on Thursday.Also, the event will feature Cultural and Arts Carnival & Launching of Lebile Dynasty Foundation on Friday while the celebration will be rounded up with thanksgiving service on Sunday.
The Lebile family Day celebration which is first of its kind has been acknowledged as a veritable platform to display cultural heritage, foster unity and progress of Igbokoda community in general.
The Lebile quarter is one of the three quarters that established Igbokoda and boosts of one family entity( homogenerity). Its forebear, Pa Lebile Beremuja was the first Baale of Igbokoda community.
Meanwhile, the event is expected to bring together prominent sons and daughters of Igbokoda community, traditional ruler,culture enthusiasts as well as top government’s functionaries.
