Ondo State – Comrade Emmanuel Balogun, a prominent youth advocate and Chairmanship aspirant of the Niger Delta Youth Movement (NDYM) Ondo state Chapter, has issued a sharp rebuke to recent alleged attempts to subvert the established democratic process within the Ondo State chapter of the movement.
In a strongly worded statement released on today, 7th of November, Comrade Balogun categorically distanced himself and his supporters from any meeting he deemed “kangaroo” or illegitimate, which may have been convened concerning the ongoing leadership contest within the NDYM. His declaration underscores a growing concern among members about the potential for internal discord to undermine the association’s mission.
Balogun issued a vehement caution to all parties, urging them to refrain from any actions or political gamesmanship that could inject rancour and cause instability within the widely respected youth body. He stressed that the primary objective must remain the unity and sustained progress of the NDYM, Ondo State Chapter.
The controversy appears to centre on the race for leadership in the Ilaje Constituency 2. Addressing the persistent rumours of a done deal, Comrade Balogun unequivocally reiterated that the nomination process remains open and competitive.
“There is currently no consensus candidate established or agreed upon for the Ilaje Constituency 2 position, I urge every concerned leaders of Ilaje Constituency 2 to closely monitor the situation within the constituency” Balogun stated, emphasizing the need for transparency and adherence to due process.
