Addressing a gathering of his campaign team earlier today, Engr. Asogbon announced that he is stepping aside to honor the consensus arrangements led by All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders.
In a display of party loyalty, he declared his unalloyed support for Hon. Segun Iwalokun, the party leaders’ choice for the constituency. Asogbon emphasized that the unity of the APC is the ultimate priority, urging his dedicated team to transfer their full support to Iwalokun to ensure a decisive victory.
Broadening his endorsement, Engr. Asogbon also threw his weight behind Pastor Leke Akingboye for the Ilaje/Ese-Odo Federal Constituency seat. He described Akingboye as the most strategic choice to represent the region in the House of Representatives, noting that his candidacy perfectly aligns with the leadership’s vision for the federal constituency.
This strategic withdrawal and double endorsement are expected to significantly ease tensions and solidify the APC’s front as the party moves toward the primary elections.
