The former governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in the last Ondo State election, Barrister Myson Nejo, has formally asserted his position as the leader of the party in the state, issuing a stern warning to Barrister Gbenga Edema to cease any attempts to constitute a parallel executive committee.
In a strongly-worded statement addressing the internal affairs of the organization, Nejo declared himself the substantive head of the ADC in Ondo and cautioned that he would not tolerate actions aimed at creating factions or undermining the official leadership structure. He specifically directed Edema to immediately stop all activities related to the formation of a parallel exco, describing such moves as “nonsense” and an attempt to foster lawlessness within the party ranks.
The legal practitioner emphasized that the party operates under a recognized leadership and warned that any attempt to bypass or challenge this through unconstitutional means would be met with firm resistance. Nejo stated that the ADC remains a disciplined organization and cautioned that “nobody should dare” to destabilize the party with parallel structures, noting that such actions are detrimental to the progress and public image of the party in the state.
Nejo further advised those with grievances to utilize the appropriate internal channels and legal windows provided by the party’s constitution rather than resorting to factionalism. He concluded by reaffirming his commitment to maintaining a single, unified party structure, vowing to protect the integrity of the ADC against any form of internal sabotage as the party prepares for future political engagements.
