Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology (OAUSTECH) in Okitipupa, Ondo State, has received approval from the National Universities Commission (NUC) to launch three new undergraduate programs and higher degrees in two departments.
According to the approval letter dated October 23, 2025, and signed by the NUC’s Acting Director of Academic Planning, Alhaji Abubakar M. Girei, the newly approved undergraduate programs include:
– BSc Cyber Security: This program is designed to equip students with cutting-edge knowledge and skills to combat cyber threats, secure digital infrastructure, and protect data privacy.
– BSc Marine Science: This program will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of coastal ecosystems, oceanography, and marine conservation, preparing them for careers in research institutes, marine-based industries, and environmental consulting.
-BSc Meteorology: This program will enable students to play critical roles in weather forecasting, climate research, aviation safety, and disaster management.
The postgraduate programs approved include:
– Postgraduate Diploma, M.Eng, and PhD in Civil Engineering: These programs will foster advanced research and innovation in infrastructure, energy systems, and technology development.
– Postgraduate Diploma, M.Eng, and PhD in Electrical and Electronics Engineering: These programs will provide students with specialized knowledge and skills in electrical and electronics engineering, preparing them for careers in industry and academia.
